Taj Mahal

This branding project brings the majesty of the Taj Mahal and Mughal artistry to life. It goes beyond a simple logo and mark design, encompassing a comprehensive brand identity. The black and white color scheme evokes elegance, while the Taj Mahal silhouette and potential Mughal motifs woven throughout the design elements add a touch of cultural heritage. This cohesive visual language extends to stationery, a booklet, signage, and even a delivery van, ensuring a consistent and memorable brand experience across all touchpoints.

An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, the Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage. The Taj Mahal is located on the right bank of the Yamuna River in a vast Mughal garden that encompasses nearly 17 hectares, in the Agra District in Uttar Pradesh.

It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal with construction starting in 1632 AD and completed in 1648 AD, with the mosque, the guest house and the main gateway on the south, the outer courtyard and its cloisters were added subsequently and completed in 1653 AD.

Logo and Mark

  • The logotype uses a clean and simple font, allowing the accompanying mark to take center stage.
  • Depending on the chosen font, it could evoke a sense of elegance or timelessness, reflecting the enduring beauty of the Taj Mahal.

Mark:

  • The mark is a stylized representation of the Taj Mahal’s silhouette, capturing its iconic dome and four minarets.
  • Mughal motifs, known for their geometric patterns and floral elements, could be subtly incorporated into the mark’s design, adding a touch of cultural heritage.
  • The overall design should strive for balance and symmetry, mirroring the architectural principles of the Taj Mahal.

Business Card: The business card likely features the logo prominently, possibly accompanied by minimal contact information in a serif font for consistency. The Taj Mahal silhouette could be subtly incorporated as a background element.

Letterhead: The letterhead would likely showcase the Taj Mahal silhouette subtly at the top or bottom of the page, with the company name and contact information prominently displayed in a black serif font for a professional look.

Envelope: The envelope maintains the minimalist theme, potentially featuring the Taj Mahal silhouette or the company logo in a smaller scale on the front. The recipient’s address would be placed in a clear, contrasting font for easy readability

Site Sign

The site sign is inspired by the fifth element designed for the project. It is a geometrical implication of the motifs present in the Taj mahal. Two such flower like structures are imagined to be placed at the entrance of the Taj mahal, a UNESCO world heritage site. Each petal of the flower is describing Taj Mahal in 8 different languages.
